There was a time when I was looking for ways to make money online and I was joining every site I could find, in my effort to take advantage of the unlimited opportunities that were offered online! I collected some good experiences and also some bad ones, so my advice to anyone trying to make money online is to make a good research before joining any sites.

There are consumer sites that will reward you for expressing your detailed opinion on a product. Those sites contain information about almost everything and consumers visit them to read other people’s personal experiences and opinions about the products or services that they want to buy. The most popular site are Ciao and Dooyoo, so if you are interested in reviewing, I would suggest that you join them for free and start writing! The best part is that you can become a member of both sites and post your reviews on them at the same time.

I have been working as a reveiwer for one year, and I have managed to gain a considerable amount of money every month. You can become a successful reviewer by following those simple steps:

Become a member and write your first review. The process is very simple, at first you need to join the site and create a profile with your personal information. After you create your profile, you can start reviewing immediately.

However, if you have never been a reviewer before, you should give some time to look around the site and get a general idea about the format and the content of the reviews. There are many experienced reviewers there and you will find very good examples of similar products. When you select your product, take some notes about your structure and the advantages and disadvantages that you want to include in your review.

Generally, it looks better if you separate your review in parts. For example if you want to review a body lotion, the first part will describe the product. You can write about the packaging, the scent, the texture and any other special things that you have noticed. The second part will include your personal opinion, how it is absorbed by your skin, what is the feeling after applying it, if the scent is too strong for a body lotion etc. The third part will give information about the availability, where you can buy it and how much it costs and finally the last part will be the conclusion with your overall opinion.

How reviewing sites work. Basically, in the review sites you get paid for every positive rating that you receive. Products are organized in categories with different reward levels. Computers, digital cameras and mobile phones are usually at the top levels but every site had its own organisation and rewarding system for each product. Additionally to the ratings, Dooyoo also rewards users for posting their reviews with points that depend on the product level, but Ciao doubles the amount that you receive from ratings if you are the first that writes a review for the product. Getting paid. Ciao pays once a month with bank transfer and you need to reach the minimum amount of 5 GBP to request payment. Dooyoo can pay with amazon vouchers and the minimum payout is 20 GBP (or 20000 dooyoo miles), or you can get paid in cash via bank transfer when you reach 50 GBP (50000 dooyoo miles).

From my personal experience, when you initially become a member you need to take it seriously and be determined that you will work hard. Don’t be disappointed if your first review doesn’t get the best ratings, you will be able to improve your writing quickly and you can also find help by other members that will give you advice on how you can get better. As soon as you find your reviewing style, you will enjoy every moment on those sites and you will earn more than you expected.

Tips and Advice

•     Upload a photo on your profile so that other members will remember you when you rate them. Most of them will remember your name as well if you are active but your profile picture will equally represent you in your first steps.
•     Always rate back. When other members rate your review, you should visit their profiles and rate them back. At those sites you get paid per rating, therefore it is important to return the favour so that those members will rate you again in the furure.
•     Leave comments. People appreciate when you leave positive comments under their reviews. By posting relative comments, you show that you have read the review and you really think that they deserve your rating. Comments are highly appreciated by the members.
•     Thank other users personally for their Exceptional ratings. When other members give me an Exceptional rating, I thank them personally by posting a message on their public profile inbox. I usually write a quick thank you note or I respond to their comments. This is important because Exceptional ratings are limited for the members and according to your level, you can give a limited amount of E’s and you become selective.
•     Take part in weekly competitions. This is a great way to earn extra money. Usually, weekly competitions are about a specific product and if you write a helpful review about it, you can earn extra 5 GBP from the competition that will be added to your earnings from the ratings.  
•     Don’t post more than one reviews per day. Personally, I believe that 1 review per day is enough to get you a good amount in your account at the end of the month. If you start posting unlimited reviews, people will stop reading them and you will get lower amount of ratings. My method is to post one review every 1-2 days and then focus on reading and rating others. Most of them will soon visit my profile to rate me back and eventually we create a trusting relationship and we are reading each other’s reviews. However, this is up to you if you want to post more reviews, it could work better for you!
•     Review only the products that you own. If you haven’t tried the product, you will not be able to write a complete and well-covered review since you won’t be able to include any personal opinion.
•     Be careful and read the rules first. Copied material is strictly forbidden and if you post copied reviews your account will be suspended immediately.
